Driver dies in head-on crash

An in­quest has been opened into the death of a man in­volved in a two-car col­li­sion in Rol­ven­den.

As­sis­tant Coroner Kate Thomas heard that Sean Flynn, 37, from Swanscombe, was trav­el­ling south on the A28 when his Ford Fi­esta was in col­li­sion with a Ford Fo­cus trav­el­ling in the op­po­site di­rec­tion.

Mr Flynn, who was born in Green­hithe and mar­ried, was pro­nounced dead at the scene. A post mortem found the cause of death to be trau­matic in­jury.

The ac­ci­dent hap­pened along Hast­ings Road near Was­sall Lane, Rol­ven­den, at 5.25pm on Mon­day, Septem­ber 4.

Five other peo­ple were in­jured in the crash. The in­quest was ad­journed un­til Mon­day, De­cem­ber 11.
