Ex-soldier expands his fitness classes
A new fitness regime that was launched in Ashford is planning to expand across the county.
Timba was created by William Head, a former Army fitness instructor from Aldington, which uses sticks along with high and low intensity cardio and partner exercises to provide an intense workout.
The current class, which began in early August, runs every Friday from 6.30 to 7.30pm at the North School, however due its success Mr Head has now begun another class in Aldington.
He said: “It’s going really well. I’ve got up to 20 members already and my capacity is 25.”
Mr Head created the concept of Timba from his previous experiences in the Army.
He said: “Quite often we would not have access to any gym equipment, especially if we were away from base, so we would improvise with whatever kit was available.”
The new sessions are held in Aldington Village Hall every Monday from 9am to 10am.
Mr Head said: “I’m eventually looking to expand and open classes in Folkestone, Maidstone and Canterbury and then eventually every town in Kent.”
