Getting people together

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Community Fun Day -

Hundreds of people enjoyed a community fun day organised by Tesco Park Farm in Kingsnorth on Sunday.

The event, which marked its third year at the weekend, raised cash for Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.

Children’s fairground rides and inflatables featured at the fun day, which included more than 30 stalls on the playing field off Church Hill.

The store’s community champion John Perrin – who has taken over from Marie Russell – hailed the event as a success.

“It was the biggest one we have done so far,” he said.

“We had a record number of stalls and visitors, but the rain did stop play at 1.30pm as the weather did clobber us a bit.

“But we still raised £1,300 between 11am and 1.30pm so it was very good going.

“I would like to thank all of the stallholders and community for their support.”
