The Ash­ford Net­ball Se­nior League held their pre­sen­ta­tion evening for the 2017 Sum­mer League. Gold­wyn took home the top prize as win­ners of the Premier Divi­sion, with Home­wood as run­ners-up. Break­aways White claimed the top hon­ours in the First Divi­sion with Break­aways Blue fin­ish­ing sec­ond, while in the Sec­ond Divi­sion, Coun­trystyle took top spot with TMC in sec­ond place. The star player awards went to Eve Davies, of Wood­church King, in the Premier Divi­sion, with Lorna Wren (Man­tarays) and Nicky Hard­man (Stone Roses) sharing the hon­ours in the First Divi­sion. Han­nah Sweat­man of Shak­ers was the Sec­ond Divi­sion star player. Deb­bie Wood­ward, Dawn Cox, Jo Legg and Sharon Wil­liams were praised for their in­volve­ment with um­pir­ing, while Julie Gill, Emma Wil­liams, Mel Craw­ley, Lorna Wren and Al­li­son Evans were thanked for their help with the Sum­mer League. The Win­ter League com­mences on Mon­day, while pay and play ses­sions for be­gin­ner net­ballers aged 16 and over start on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 2 at 6.30pm.
