Bid ended by engine damage
Connor Yates had to settle for fourth spot in the British 100cc Auto Championships after damage to his quadbike ended his title chances. Going into the final round at West Meon on Sunday, the Kennington youngster had a shot at the crown with only a handful of points separating the top four riders. In race one, Connor made a bad start but recovered to get in the mix and finish third. However, damage sustained to the bike’s engine mounts meant it couldn’t be repaired and ended his hopes. The racer competed in the final two races on next year’s bike and posted some impressive lap times, to leave Connor looking forward to the 2018 season already.
