Adult cour­ses up for award

Kent Adult Ed­u­ca­tion (KAE) has been nom­i­nated for a na­tional award that recog­nises the op­por­tu­ni­ties it of­fers thou­sands of adults across the county.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion is up against seven oth­ers in the Adult and Com­mu­nity Learn­ing Provider of the Year cat­e­gory in the Times Ed­u­ca­tional Sup­ple­ment Fur­ther Ed­u­ca­tion (TES FE) Awards for 2018.

The awards cel­e­brate ex­cel­lence and in­no­va­tive prac­tice across the Fur­ther Ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor, with the win­ners an­nounced at Lon­don’s Grosvenor House Ho­tel on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 23.

There are 13 KAE cen­tres across Kent of­fer­ing an ex­ten­sive range of cour­ses in­clud­ing lan­guages, the arts, fit­ness and well­be­ing, coun­selling and psy­chol­ogy, busi­ness and IT and ESOL (English for speak­ers of other lan­guages).

Be­tween 2016/17, more than 25,500 adults en­rolled on KAE cour­ses, which are aimed at all mem­bers of the com­mu­nity, with a num­ber de­signed specif­i­cally for fam­i­lies and peo­ple in dis­ad­van­taged ar­eas.
