A county-wide campaign to raise the profile of carers is now online.

Carers First, Carers’ Support – Ashford, Swale and Shepway, Carers’ Support – Canterbury, Dover and Thanet, Crossroads Care Kent and Involve Kent, based in Maidstone, have joined together to launch the Kent Carers Matter campaign.

The five organisations have banded together with support from Kent County Council, NHS trusts and district councils.

Currently there are 151,000 carers across Kent, with the campaign hoping to increase access to carer services, while also supporting health and social care professionals to refer carers to services earlier.

As the campaign progresses, Kent Carers Matter hopes to give a voice to the people giving their time to look after others in their lives.

The campaign’s website can be accessed via www.kentcarersmat
