Support for home carers

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Business Kent Update -

Beech Tree Total Care, which provides home care support services, is working to ensure that staff are fully supported and given educational opportunities.

Emma Rutterford-Dawkins, who works at Beech Tree, based at Chamberlain Manor, Ashford, said: “Few realise how physically and mentally challenging this career is. The turnover of staff can be astonishingly high.”

Beech Tree has recently updated their website to help combat this, visit www.beechtreetotalcare.co.uk.

Staff can now access information and support and express interest in courses.

There is also an area where carers can be praised for their work, showing others what is achievable.

Emma said: “We encourage our team to push themselves and achieve more than they imagined.

“The life of a carer is about making people feel human and supporting people both mentally and physically so a little appreciation goes a long way.”
