Demand for new homes increasing
Connells New Homes team says demand for new-build properties in the county is on the increase. New homes sales in April were at their highest since January 2007, a clear indication that the market for new homes has turned a corner. The news comes hot in the heels of a survey by Markit/Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply showing that house building activity in April reached its highest level since the recession with developers resuming projects to meet increasing demand from homebuyers. According to the research, which works on an index where 50 is flat growth, residential building has risen to 60.3, its highest level since August 2007. Ian Hatchard, new homes business development manager for Connells in Kent, said: “We have seen a surge of activity in the Kent new homes market, both from buyers who are now more confident and developers looking to take advantage of growing demand. “We are marketing some fantastic new homes sites on behalf of house builders in Kent including Bloor Homes, Crest Nicholson and Elysian Homes.
