Cul-de-sac bungalow has quiet, secluded garden

a home for the long term.”
The Strutt & Parker Housing Futures research also highlighted the need for more flexible family homes to suit homeowners’ evolving needs and identified a ‘yo-yo’ or ‘flexible’ house as a possible solution.
Stephanie continues: “The ‘yo-yo house’ focuses on flexibility: growing, contracting and evolving with its occupants, offering them different space use over their lifetime.
“For example, the footings will allow a garage space, not only to be converted to a single-storey living space, but to two or three storeys – the cost of retro-fitting being higher than the cost of future-proofing at the build stage.”
The Strutt & Parker report added that according to those who plan to move within five years, the ideal home will be either a farmhouse or in a cottage style. It will be 1,500 to 2,499 sq ft and have a minimum of three bedrooms.
When it came to the number of bedrooms, studio and onebedroom properties were the least sought after. There was a general desire for additional bedrooms, perhaps for guests or storage. A four-bedroom chalet bungalow is for sale in a sought after cul-de-sac in Canterbury.
The property is at The Foreland, in the south of the city and just a mile from the city centre.
There is a large living room with a bay window to the front and a tiled fireplace.
The fitted shaker style kitchen has an integrated sink with mixer tap over, breakfast bar, space for fridge/freezer, space for dishwasher, built-in double oven with gas hob and extractor over.
A door from the kitchen leads to the utility room.
Also downstairs are the dining room, two of the bedrooms and a bathroom. A conservatory has a tiled floor and double door to the garden. Two more bedrooms and a bathroom are upstairs.
There is off-street parking on the driveway at the front, which leads to the integral garage with power and light, an up-and-over door and a door to the side.
At the front of the bungalow is a lawned area with mature flower borders and at the back, the 100ft garden is peaceful and secluded.
Schools including the highly regarded Simon Langton Grammar schools are close to the property. Access to the A2 is 1.5 miles away. The bungalow is on the market with Miles & Barr priced at £485,000.
