Golden days in our lovely new home

Downsizers Philip and Elizabeth Talbot had plenty to smile about as they celebrated their golden wedding in their new home.

After three decades in their large home at Hawkinge, the couple were the first residents to move into the Scholars’ Village development in nearby Folkestone, having reserved their property off-plan.

Soon after they moved in to the Pentland Homes development, friends and family arrived to mark 50 years of marriage for the couple, who have been foster parents to dozens of children.

Among the well-wishers were Pentland Homes staff, who presented the couple with a bouquet.

Philip said: “It was fascinating watching our home take shape, and being the first residents we’ve enjoyed watching the site’s progress.”

Scholars’ Village, a development of 84 two, three and four-bedroom homes, is next to Park Farm Road. Kitchens are by Roma Interiors, who achieved a neat and modern finish for the Talbots with cupboard doors in light grey.

The marketing suite is open 10am to 5pm, Thursday to Monday.
