So you want to live in Challock?

Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District - East Kent Property - - HOMESNEWS -

Challock is a pretty village in the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has great facilities.

The nearby Ashford and Canterbury provide a broader selection of shops, schools and leisure facilities.

Road and rail links in the area are good and trains run from Charing to London Victoria in about 80 minutes. Ashford International has a rail service to London St Pancras taking 37 minutes.

The parish church of St Cosmas and St Damian is located in idyllic isolation on the North Downs, one mile from the modern village of Challock. It is a Norman church that was built around 1100. Challock was originally located in the immediate vicinity of the church. It moved to its current location when the villagers were given notice to quit in the late 16th century by the owner of Eastwell Park who enclosed his lands. However, the church remained as the place of worship for the relocated villagers.
