How to do it…

Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District - East Kent Property - - DIYLIVING -

Once the tin is opened, oil-based paints soon develop a visible ‘skin’ on top, so make sure you remove it before stirring the paint or you will get bits in it, which is very annoying when you use it. A similar thing can happen with water-based paints, although you won’t be able to see the skin. Keep the lid on tightly as much as possible and a skin should not form, but if it does and the paint is full of bits, you could try straining it.
