Why this couple love island life

Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District - East Kent Property - - HOMESNEWS -

This Kent couple can’t get enough of St Mary’s Island and are about to move into their third home there.

Graeme Rouse and his wife Ayshen have lived on the island in Chatham for 17 years and are set to be move into a five-bedroom home overlooking the Medway with views across to Upnor Castle.

Right on the water’s edge, this stunning property is the home they have dreamed of living in since moving to the island.

The Rouses have watched the UK’s first strategically planned island grow into the flourishing place it is today.

“When I first moved here, the island was very sparse,” said Graeme.

“But I knew that the final part of the island would include Countryside building homes along the waterfront. Last year, they announced that they were starting work on Azure which left us jumping at the chance to finally move to the home of our dreams!”

On the former site of the Royal Naval Dockyard, Azure is Countryside’s latest phase of homes on St Mary’s Island.

Prices for the five-bedroom Kingfisher start from £530,000.
