The town has a vibrant High Street with quirky shops and there is a leisure centre with swimming pool, flume and fitness centre, as well as children’s play areas, tennis courts and a bowling green.
A Heritage Trail links museums, churches, historic buildings and town hall. At the Kent and East Sussex Railway passengers can enjoy a steam train ride to Bodiam Castle, using a line once busy with hop-pickers.
The Rare Breeds Centre at Woodchurch is great for a day out, with or without children in tow.
