Bayfest set to go out with a bang
Bayfest goes out with a bang this weekend.
The Herne Bay festival, which entertained some 100,000 people with its air show featuring the Red Arrows last weekend, has a range of events throughout the bank holiday weekend as a last hurrah for the summer. On Saturday, August 26, the National Coastwatch Station Open Day at Herne Bay station will run from 9am to 5pm, with the festival fireworks exploding at Neptune’s Arm that evening, between 9pm and 9.30pm.
Grab your buckets and wellies on Sunday, August 27, for the popular crab catching competition on Herne Bay Pier between 3.15pm and 4pm. If you’d like a go, it’s best to get there early to register. Also on Sunday will be the model boat regatta at Memorial Park between 10am and 4pm, when the day will be devoted to radio controlled model boats put on the lake by clubs from all over Kent.
There will also be Herne Bay’s Got Talent at the Herne Bay Pier stage on Bank Holiday Monday from 1pm to 5pm. There are more events through to Wednesday, August 30, including exhibitions and crafts.
