Roll up, roll up for a mag­i­cal cir­cus show at a cas­tle.

The award-win­ning Brothers Grimm fairy tale-in­spired cir­cus per­for­mances by ac­ro­batic the­atre com­pany Ni­cole & Martin is at Walmer Cas­tle and Gar­dens, from Thurs­day, Au­gust 31 to Sun­day, Septem­ber 3.

The per­form­ers travel in­ter­na­tion­ally in their old fash­ioned cir­cus car­a­vans and wagons and will pitch their can­vas tent out­side the cas­tle, per­form­ing a dif­fer­ent show each night, re-imag­in­ing a tra­di­tional story and bring­ing it to life with mu­sic, ac­ro­bat­ics, the­atre and jug­gling. Thurs­day’s show, The Girl with No Hands in­cludes a tightrope, while on Fri­day, Iron John will be a mu­si­cal ex­trav­a­ganza with an ae­rial hoop. Satur­day’s per­for­mance, The Fish­er­man and His Wife is pro­duced from a sin­gle wooden box, while on Sun­day there will be a tale of four an­i­mals who es­cape their farm to be­come mu­si­cians. Tick­ets cost £14, £9 for chil­dren, with shows rec­om­mended for ages fie and up.
