Benedict’s Hamlet back on screen
There’s a chance to watch Benedict Cumberbatch in action next week.
He and the cast of the 2015 National Theatre production of Hamlet – which includes former Maidstone schoolboy Rudi Dharmalingam – return for an encore on Thursday, October 5.
Such was the excitement for the stage show in London, tickets sold out in minutes. Rudi, who play’s Hamlet’s friend, Guildenstern, attended Maidstone’s Invicta Grammar School sixth form.
He said of the screenings: “It’s a great way of making theatre accessible.”
The encore screenings are on Thursday, October 5, and are at Maidstone and Chatham Odeon cinemas, Curzon Canterbury, the Gulbenkian in Canterbury and Rochester and Ashford Cineworld. Visit ntlive.nationaltheatre.org.uk to book.
