A more efficient treatment

-

Cancer nurses at Kent and Canterbury Hospital have been handed new technology to help treat patients receiving chemotherapy.

The mobile carts, funded by donations, provide nurses with an all-in-one facility for chemotherapy treatment. Each has lockable storage for drugs and electronic access to a patient’s prescription via screen.

Twenty-nine of the clinical drug treatment units – for K&C and the QEQM in Margate – have been bought with donations from the East Kent Hospitals charity and the hospital’s League of Friends.

Jennifer Jewell, chemotherapy eprescribing nurse lead, said: “We are able to provide a more streamlined and efficient service to patients.”
