Man bailed over OAP burglary

Police have arrested and charged a suspect after a pensioner told how she grappled with a burglar in her own home.

The Gazette reported last week how 72-year-old Margaret Allen (pictured) found an intruder in her house in Albert Road, Canterbury, on October 1.

CCTV showed a man fleeing the property.

Police subsequently arrested 29-year-old Jurijus Kuznecovas, of Spring Lane, Canterbury.

He was charged with burglary and has been bailed to appear before Margate magistrates on November 3.
