Man ac­cused of bur­glar­ies

A man is ac­cused of go­ing on a bur­glary spree while car­ry­ing a knife and Class A drugs.

Far­ley Matcham, 45, ap­peared in court on March 23 charged with break­ing into two prop­er­ties and at­tempt­ing to bur­gle two oth­ers.

He was ar­rested in Goodne­stone, near Dover, shortly af­ter a break-in was re­ported to po­lice at about 10.30am on Wed­nes­day. He was charged with the bur­glary, as well as an­other in nearby Bar­fre­stone ear­lier that morn­ing.

On the same day he is charged with try­ing to bur­gle a dif­fer­ent prop­erty in Bar­fre­stone and one in Chil­len­den.

When ar­rested he was re­ported to have been pos­ses­sion of a fold­ing knife, heroin and crack co­caine – of­fences for which he has also been charged.

Matcham, of Sib­erts Close, Shep­herdswell, was re­manded in cus­tody by Med­way mag­is­trates and will next ap­pear at Can­ter­bury Crown Court on April 20.
