Recycling should be made easier

Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District - - Letters And Opinion -

I live in a small block of flats and we had four large blue lidded bins and four large red lidded bins for the tenants of the 18 flats (Poor recycling rate, March 23).

In January two years ago we had the bins removed because some contamination got into them (plastic bags). We weren’t warned before it happened and we weren’t told after it had happened.

It was only by chasing the council we found out why they were taken away. On three occasions the council had been asked for literature which could be given to the tenants.

Promises were made but never kept. We use to be able to take recycling to Asda car park where we recycled paper, cans and bottles but those containers have all been removed.

Some of us would like to recycle but the council don’t make it easy. Richard Harvey Old Park Court, Canterbury
