Canterbury and Whitstable MP Sir Julian Brazier has told the House of Commons that he welcomes the of the universal credit system, saying it has led to less casework for him.

During work and pensions questions, he said: “Nearly a third of the unemployed in Canterbury now enjoy universal credit. That has not only pushed down the level of unemployment, but resulted in remarkably few cases coming to my surgeries.”
