And it was the group, led by ride spon­sor Paul Bar­rett, which again ac­com­pa­nied them back home on the fi­nal leg from Great Or­mond Street Hospi­tal to Can­ter­bury.

So far, in­clud­ing gift aid, they have raised more than £14,500.

They later cel­e­brated their home­com­ing with a re­cep­tion at the Jolly Sailor in Can­ter­bury.

Ge­orge said they might con­sider an­other big ride in the fu­ture, but added: “Maybe not quite so far next time.”
