Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District - - Historical Decision -

A mountain of rubbish was collected during a one-hour blitz of Canterbury’s Hales Place Estate by litter pickers on Sunday.

The 25 volunteers picked up enough rubbish to fill 45 sacks, plus numerous bulky items.

Anti-litter campaigner Sian Pettman said: “I’d like to thank all those who took part on Sunday.

“In addition to the 45 sacks of litter, there was a motley collection of odds and ends, including a car bumper, two car seats, a car headlight, a beacon from a traffic island, a scooter and a collection of to-let signs.”
