Gilbert and Sullivan favourite at Marlowe

-

The Canterbury Operatic Society present Gilbert and Sullivan’s timeless classic The Mikado.

This comic musical opera is one of the most frequently played musical theatre pieces in history.

It is set in the 1880s in the fictional Japanese town of Titipu where the characters all seem familiar.

As with many of Gilbert and Sullivan’s productions, the show mocks aspects of Victorian Britain’s politics and aristocracy.

The Mikado is at the Marlowe Theatre tonight to Saturday, April 22 at 7.30pm and there is a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Visit www.marlowetheatre. com or call 01227 787787 (a £1 booking fee applies).
