Look up – and enjoy buildings
Congratulations to Harry Bell for his article urging us to “Look up and enjoy the city’s architecture” (Kentish Gazette, May 18). He is absolutely right. There are so many wonderful historic buildings in our city, but often the modern shop fronts distract our attention from the beauty of the buildings themselves. Look up particularly in St Peter’s Street, St Margaret’s Street, Castle Street, Palace Street and St Dunstan’s Street.
Unfortunately many of the owners of these buildings do not look up either. If they did they might see weeds growing out of their gutters, cracked plaster work, crumbling bricks
