The Great Stour Way between Canterbury and Chartham dazzled with colour as dozens of walkers and cyclists took part in a charity outing on Saturday.

This year the Rainbow Ride and Stride in aid of the Pilgrims Hospice was organised by volunteers and around 70 people took part, raising £1,100.

They wore colourful outfits as they gathered at Toddlers Cove in the Westgate Gardens for the scenic, seven-mile riverside walk or ride to Chartham and back.

The family event had previously been organised in-house by the hospice’s own fundraisin­g team but supporters agreed to take it on to help ease the charity’s increasing­ly busy events calendar.
