No clear motive or DNA evidence was ever discovered for the Chillenden attacks.
Michael Stone, 37, a heroin addict from Gillingham with convictions for burglary and violence, was convicted of the two murders and attempted murder in 1998.
He was given three life sentences, with a minimum of 25 years.
Stone has launched several attempts to be cleared – including a retrial – but he was reconvicted on the same evidence.
