Choose Tory hopeful in an open primary
Mike Armstrong’s letter ‘Time for Sir Julian to leave the past behind’ [August 24, 2017] seems to assume that the Conservative candidacy for this constituency is a freehold, owned by Sir Julian Brazier.
This raises serious questions about how the Conservative candidate for the next election is to selected.
This process may determine who is the next MP for Canterbury, so is a matter of concern for us all.
The process whereby Sir Julian was allowed to stand as the Conservative candidate in April 2017 was as follows: Members of the Conservative Association
