Mike Armstrong’s let­ter ‘Time for Sir Julian to leave the past be­hind’ [Au­gust 24, 2017] seems to as­sume that the Con­ser­va­tive can­di­dacy for this con­stituency is a free­hold, owned by Sir Julian Bra­zier.

This raises se­ri­ous ques­tions about how the Con­ser­va­tive can­di­date for the next elec­tion is to se­lected.

This process may de­ter­mine who is the next MP for Can­ter­bury, so is a mat­ter of con­cern for us all.
