A 77-year-old Bridge pen­sioner will go on trial next year ac­cused of killing some­one by driv­ing care­lessly.

A two-car ac­ci­dent hap­pened on the A259 at Ash in De­cem­ber. Roy Ba­gley, 92, be­lieved to have lived in Wing­ham, was in­jured in the in­ci­dent near Che­quer Lane but died in Ash­ford Hos­pi­tal in March this year.

Now Pa­tri­cia Hume, of Conyn­g­ham Lane in Bridge, has ap­peared at Can­ter­bury Crown Court. She pleaded not guilty to the charge. The trial, which is ex­pected to start on April 16, is likely to take five days. Hume was granted bail un­til the next hear­ing.
