Tom Ward warmed-up for the final round of the Dickies British Supersport series this weekend with his first podium of the season at Assen, Holland.

The Littlebourne rider put his Aero Legends/go Racing Developments Yahama on the third row of the grid for the opening race in which he finished 13th and in race two he came fourth before a 60-second penalty for championship leader Keith Farmer saw him elevated to third.

Wingham’s Ross Twyman was fourth in the sprint race.

After putting his EHA Racing Yamaha R6 on row two in the second race, technical problems meant the bike lost power from the start forcing him to pull in.

The final round takes place at Brands Hatch this weekend with Twyman sixth overall. Wingham’s Carl Mitchell in racing action at Snetterton, Norfolk, over the weekend
