Skipper Helen Fagg says despite Canterbury Ladies slipping to the foot of the Investec Premier Division, they are not far away from turning the corner.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Slough – secured by Izzy Totten’s scrappy penalty corner deflection just before the hour – left the city club bottom with just one point from their opening three games.
Fagg said: “I don’t think we deserved to lose. We had most of the play, we entered their D a lot more than they did ours and dominated for long periods. We just didn’t convert our opportunities.
“If you don’t score, you don’t win games. They scored a fortunate goal from a short corner and that was enough.
“The result was disappointing but our actual performance was pretty good.
