Up to fourth after big win
Canterbury 2nds moved up to fourth in the Higgins Group London League Premier Division after a 7-2 win at East Grinstead.
Hugo Creaney-birch scored four times with one each for Michael Farrer, James Tritton and Sam Biccarino.
Canterbury led 5-1 at half-time but were only able to add two more in the second half.
Pilgrims enjoyed a good win over a strong BBHC team in the Kent/sussex Regional 2.
Their early good play was rewarded after Tim Launois picked up the ball in the D and fired the ball through the keeper’s legs to make it 1-0.
Callum Lea dived to deflect the ball over the on-rushing keeper to make it 2-0 at half-time.
James Bray and Fraser Coupe added goals in the second half to give Pilgrims a 4-0 win and lift them to 10th.
Two goals from Matt Lea and one from Tom Hill gave the 3rds a 3-2 win at Cliftonville in the Kent Area Division 1.
The win against the leaders puts them sixth.
The 4ths also had a narrow win against Ashford 2nds in the Kent Area Division 2. Glenn Prebble scored a hat-trick on his side’s way to a 6-5 win, which puts them third. Two goals from Barry Thomas and one each for Ollie Neale and Josh Rollinson gave Millers a 4-2 win at Deal 1sts in Kent Area Division 2.
Alfie Tedder’s hat-trick gave the 5ths a 5-1 home win against Holcombe 4ths in Kent Men’s Outdoor Open, Premier B to put them sixth.
In the Kent Men’s Outdoor Open Premier C, Griffins had a 3-1 win at Holcombe 4As to maintain their position at the top.
Second-half goals from Steve and Gary Laslett gave them the win.
The Squires got a deserved 1-0 win at Gravesham & Wellcome 2nds in the Kent Open Division 1 while Friars had a 4-1 win at home to Folkestone Optimist 7ths in Division 3.
Canterbury Ladies 2nds lost 1-0 on a trip to West Herts in the East Hockey League Premier Division. The defeat leaves them sixth.
The 2As kept their place at the top of the East Hockey League Division 2 South East after a 2-0 home win against Waltham Forest.
The 3rds got a much-needed point in their home match with Maidstone 2nds in the Kent Women’s Hockey League Premier Division.
The match finished 0-0 and leaves the side 11th.
The 3As won a close match with Bexleyheath & Belvedere Ladies 2nds in the Kent Division 2.
Rebecca Ellis fired home a goal to make the Canterbury side 4-3 winners.
In the Investec Women’s over-35 cup, the Vets over-35s progressed to the next round with a 6-0 win against Sevenoaks.
