Up to fourth after big win

Can­ter­bury 2nds moved up to fourth in the Hig­gins Group London League Premier Di­vi­sion after a 7-2 win at East Grin­stead.

Hugo Cre­aney-birch scored four times with one each for Michael Far­rer, James Trit­ton and Sam Bic­carino.

Can­ter­bury led 5-1 at half-time but were only able to add two more in the sec­ond half.

Pil­grims en­joyed a good win over a strong BBHC team in the Kent/sus­sex Re­gional 2.

Their early good play was re­warded after Tim Launois picked up the ball in the D and fired the ball through the keeper’s legs to make it 1-0.

Cal­lum Lea dived to de­flect the ball over the on-rush­ing keeper to make it 2-0 at half-time.

James Bray and Fraser Coupe added goals in the sec­ond half to give Pil­grims a 4-0 win and lift them to 10th.

Two goals from Matt Lea and one from Tom Hill gave the 3rds a 3-2 win at Cliftonville in the Kent Area Di­vi­sion 1.

The win against the lead­ers puts them sixth.

The 4ths also had a nar­row win against Ashford 2nds in the Kent Area Di­vi­sion 2. Glenn Preb­ble scored a hat-trick on his side’s way to a 6-5 win, which puts them third. Two goals from Barry Thomas and one each for Ollie Neale and Josh Rollinson gave Millers a 4-2 win at Deal 1sts in Kent Area Di­vi­sion 2.

Al­fie Ted­der’s hat-trick gave the 5ths a 5-1 home win against Hol­combe 4ths in Kent Men’s Out­door Open, Premier B to put them sixth.

In the Kent Men’s Out­door Open Premier C, Griffins had a 3-1 win at Hol­combe 4As to main­tain their po­si­tion at the top.

Sec­ond-half goals from Steve and Gary Laslett gave them the win.

The Squires got a deserved 1-0 win at Grave­sham & Well­come 2nds in the Kent Open Di­vi­sion 1 while Fri­ars had a 4-1 win at home to Folke­stone Op­ti­mist 7ths in Di­vi­sion 3.

Can­ter­bury Ladies 2nds lost 1-0 on a trip to West Herts in the East Hockey League Premier Di­vi­sion. The de­feat leaves them sixth.

The 2As kept their place at the top of the East Hockey League Di­vi­sion 2 South East after a 2-0 home win against Waltham For­est.

The 3rds got a much-needed point in their home match with Maid­stone 2nds in the Kent Women’s Hockey League Premier Di­vi­sion.

The match fin­ished 0-0 and leaves the side 11th.

The 3As won a close match with Bex­ley­heath & Belvedere Ladies 2nds in the Kent Di­vi­sion 2.

Re­becca El­lis fired home a goal to make the Can­ter­bury side 4-3 win­ners.

In the In­vestec Women’s over-35 cup, the Vets over-35s pro­gressed to the next round with a 6-0 win against Sevenoaks.
