MEET THE ‘OTHER’ CARTER

INTRODUCING JONATHAN, THE THIRD ELDEST SON OF HOUSE CARTER AND DESCRIBED BY HIS SIBLINGS AS “TERRIFYINGLY INTELLIGENT”…

Kerrang! (UK) - - Carter Brothers -

ALRIGHT, JONATHAN. DO YOU SHARE A SIMILAR MUSIC TASTE TO ANY OF YOUR BROTHERS? “My music taste is a bit different to all of my brothers. While I listen to a lot of what they do, I enjoy an eclectic mix. The Gaslight Anthem and Biffy Clyro are two that I’d say everyone would agree on. I’d say Steph’s taste in music would be most like mine due to the diversity of it.”

WHILE THE OTHER GUYS ARE IN BANDS, YOU WORK IN COMPUTER PROGRAMMING… HOW DID YOU GET INTO THAT? “I work in computer programming and I used to be a videographer. I toured with Gallows documenting life on the road and putting together tour diaries and other videos. After my last project with them crashed out in spectacular fashion, I was pretty disillusioned and broke. I took a job doing clerical work for my dad and was introduced to code through him. I enjoy making things, and the puzzles in software development are an addictive passion.”

BUT YOU DO PLAY BASS AND HAVE BEEN IN BANDS, RIGHT? “I tried to learn to play bass while I was younger because I’m lazy and, in my head, four strings had to be easier than six. It was, but I am no bass player. I respect musicians greatly for everything they give us, but that’s not the way I chose to go. My place in that circus is behind the lens, not in front.”

What do you mean, do we wanna buy a dog? (Clockwise from left): Rich, Steph, Bluebell the dog and Frank
