The 24-year-old would lose his life in a bus crash on the Euro­pean leg of the sup­port­ing Dam­age Inc. tour, barely six months after the al­bum’s re­lease. But in his fi nal record­ing – the fi rst-ever thrash al­bum to go plat­inum – his le­gacy lives on, with songs such as Wel­come Home (San­i­tar­ium) and the epic in­stru­men­tal Orion invit­ing a sym­phonic in­ge­nu­ity to their pi­o­neer­ing thrash­metal edge.
