AMONGST THE latest additions to Slam Dunk Festival – which include Mayday Parade, Hit The Lights, ROAM, Northlane, Hacktivist, Cancer Bats and Norma Jean – are Florida pop-punks Yellowcard, who are set to play their 2003 career-making Ocean Avenue album in full.
“When Ocean Avenue exploded, we went from trying to get on whatever shows we could as an opener to playing the main stage at Warped Tour and winning a Moonman at the MTV VMA’S,” explains frontman Ryan Key.
And what are they most looking forward to about playing the album back-to-back?
“There are a lot of songs from Ocean Avenue that we don’t play often in our regular sets,” adds Ryan.“so, I’m looking forward to revisiting those and seeing Yellowcard fans who are really happy hearing the whole record played live.”
The shows will also be Yellowcard’s fifirst time playing Slam Dunk… “I’ve heard the crowd is insane. If you look at the line-up, how could they not lose their minds?”
