PARKWAY DRIVE

WINSTON MCCALLCALL IS READYING HIMSELF FOR PARKWAY DRIVEÕS BIGGEST UK TOUR Ð BUT NOT BEFORE HE GETS HIS HANDS ON SOME M&S SCONESÉ

Kerrang! (UK) - - Gigs -

HEY, WINSTON! THESE ARE GOING TO BE THE BIGGEST HEADLINE SHOWS PARKWAY DRIVE HAVE EVER PLAYED IN THE UK – DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’VE MADE IT?

WINSTON MCCALL ( VOCALS): “( Laughs) It depends if you have a destination in the first place! We’re definitely psyched, and we are bringing a show that no-one has seen from Parkway before, which is nice. As far as ‘making it’ goes, we have a lot bigger things in mind in terms of where we can go; it’s still just the start for us. That being said, we don’t want to sound like arrogant arseholes. We’re just so fucking stoked that this tour seems to be lining up so fucking well – it’s pretty incredible.”

LAST TIME YOU WERE HERE, YOU HAD A LOAD OF SNOW CANNONS. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT THIS TIME?

“I don’t want to give away too much.the Parkway Drive that you see onstage now is a more streamlined, inspired unit than it was before. It’s everything that you’ve come to expect from us: it’s amped up and way, way bigger – we have things that burn, we have things that explode, as well as a whole bunch of new tunes. It’s a show now – not just a bunch of random songs.”

YOU HAVE SO MANY SONGS NOW, IS IT HARD PICKING A SET LIST THESE DAYS?

“We never really had that problem until this album [Ire]. It’s been surprising – a really nice surprise. We have so many old songs that people love, which we don’t want to cut out, but all of a sudden we have so many songs from the new album that are our favourites – it’s fucking nuts.”

YOU’RE BRINGING BURY TOMORROW AND THY ART IS MURDER WITH YOU – IS THIS A DESTRUCTIVE TOUR PACKAGE?

“Oh yes! That’s pretty obvious ( laughs). It’s going to be great. I’m really stoked that we can bring such an intense package to these venues. It’s one thing to play somewhere like The Underworld and it be nuts, but then when you times that by 10, it looks like some fucking scene from Braveheart ( laughs). I’m psyched on Bury Tomorrow – the new tracks I’ve heard have been really, really phenomenal and we actually haven’t toured with those guys. We’ve been touring with Thy Art a fair bit, and they’re great dudes.”

FINALLY, WHAT HAVE PARKWAY DRIVE GOT PLANNED FOR THE REST OF 2016?

“New music, more touring and that’s about it! It keeps going in that cycle.we’ve got some festivals coming up, so we’ll be back in the summer.we’re going back to America. It doesn’t seem to stop – this record has given us running legs, so we’re making the most of it and we’re pretty psyched.”
