WILL GOULD

WHICH SONG ARE YOU PARTICULARLY EXCITED FOR PEOPLE TO HEAR?

“Hannah’s song, Crickets, is unlike anything we’ve tried before, and it’s possibly my favourite song. It’s put in a place on the record, in terms of its structure, where it would condition the listener to know something different was going to happen. I still think it will surprise people, though.”

HANNAH’S PRESENCE IS STRONGLY FELT ON THIS ALBUM…

“What’s been really cool is that me and Ian [Miles, guitarist] are big fans of a very flamboyant style, and Hannah is absolutely incredible at hitting those notes and making it sound more theatrical. That gives us loads more to play with, musically. I want Creeper to have as many different colours to paint with as we possibly can.”

WHAT’S THE ONE THING YOU WANT LISTENERS TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE ALBUM?

“In terms of our audience, it would be the message of I Choose To Live, which is a direct response to the fan mail we were getting from people in bad places in their lives. We never really knew how to address it, so we were working out the best way to respond, because most of the time we’re as fucked-up as the people who are speaking to us.”
