how Does it feel to Be getting Back on tour?

JACK BOTTOMLEY (GUITAR): “It’s exciting! It’s really nice for us to go back into it with a ‘real gig’ as we like to say, where there’s no barrier and you’re right up in people’s faces.that’s the way we always used to do it.” BECCA MACINTYRE (VOCALS):“I just want to hug everyone when I see them at the venues – that’s all I want to do.”

you toured your Debut album extensively – DID you get Sick of it By the end?

JACK:“IT’S a weird one, because you’re on a tour that you love, it’s great and there’s nothing better. Eventually though it got a bit ‘Woooooah’ and we became a little bit jaded because it was very long and we’d been away for ages. It’s like being a runner where you suddenly hit a wall.” BECCA:“EVEN when the tour finished, it felt like there was still a lot of shit to carry on with for that album, and it never really stops either.” you Delayed the announcement of

your tour after the news of chester Bennington’s Death Broke. what DID his music mean to you?

JACK:“ME and Sam [Macintyre, guitar] were discussing this the other day… Hybrid Theory was probably the first album we ever bought. Even if you fell out of love with them since then, or stopped listening to them, or whatever, Linkin Park and that album influenced a lot of people our age without many of them even realising it. I remember seeing One Step Closer on Kerrang! TV and just thinking,‘wow!’ Me and my brother [Will, bass] used to run around the bedroom dyeing our hair whatever colour Chester had it.” BECCA:“FOR people our age they definitely felt like the first rock band that you got into that you could shout and sing along to. It wasn’t music that was passed down from anyone in your family or anything like that – you discovered it yourself.”

finally, you’re playing reading & leeds festival Before frank carter & the rattlesnakes – how much of a fire Does that light underneath you as performers?

BECCA:“I think everyone on that stage [NME / BBC Radio 1] on that day is going to be pulling it out of the bag.we’re there to give it our all, and give the crowd what they deserve. I haven’t actually seen Frank with this band yet, so I’m really excited about that. I’ll have to come straight back after we’ve played and stand at the side of the stage.” DATES: Newcastle Think Tank?
