6 JIMMY EAT WORLD BRING THE FEELS
The returning emo Titans are sure To make it rain (Tears, at least) MARK HOPPUS RECENTLY TWEETED THAT ALL HE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT A PERSON IS WHAT THEIR FAVOURITE JIMMY EAT WORLD ALBUM IS. WHAT KIND OF PERSON WOULD CHOOSE YOUR LATEST ONE, INTEGRITY BLUES?
JIM ADKINS (VOCALS/GUITAR): “Oh man… that’s tough! I guess for the people I’ve met on this tour, it’s our most recent album and the one being promoted, so it’s in their consciousness. It’s tough because people have all kinds of reasons for what they connect with…”
WHICH ALBUM DO YOU GRAVITATE TO?
“It’s been a while since I sat down and listened to one of our own records, honestly! You’re always most excited about the thing you just did, so I think if it was going to be any of the records it would be Integrity Blues.”
YOU’RE PLAYING ON THE MAIN STAGE AT READING & LEEDS – HOW ARE YOU FEELING ABOUT THE PROSPECT?
“The prospects are good! We’ve done it before, but that doesn’t make it any less of an insane honour to be invited.we don’t take any of these opportunities that come to us for granted, because it ends. There’s a lot of people who spend their time telling me that they think it won’t end, but they’re in for a real bummer when it does.when you just said we were doing it, I got a chill up my spine… We’re PLAYING THE FUCKING MAIN STAGE AT READING & LEEDS!”
DO YOU MAKE RECORDS WITH THE ATTITUDE THAT IT MIGHT BE YOUR LAST, THEN?
“I wouldn’t categorise it like that… I don’t think I look at it like the record we’re working on is the last we’ll ever do. It’s more like,‘let’s make this thing like it’s the pinnacle of what we’re able to do right now!’” MAIN STAGE; R: FRIDAY, 5:40PM; L: SATURDAY, 5:05PM
