■ SIMPLICITY? IT’S not the most renowned of qualities in the world of post-hardcore. Over their decade of existence, and three albums, I The Mighty haven’t been an outfit overburdened with straightforwardness. Though its 11-word title would suggest otherwise, this latest LP makes a break for something approaching mainstream appeal. Attaching the clean edges and wide horizons of contemporary prog to the compelling beats and synthy flourishes of pop-rock, tracks like Chaos In Motion and Where The Mind Wants To Go characterise a record torn between the contradictory worlds of innovation and safety.thankfully, others, like lead single Silver Tongues (featuring Dance Gavin Dance’s Tilian Pearson) and the pounding Escapism, pack just enough promise to see them through. DOWNLOAD: Silver Tongues. FOR FANS OF: Emarosa, Dayshell. SAM LAW
