KKKK FOURTH ALBUM OF PROGGY HEAVINESS FROM CRUSTY GOTHENBURG CREW

■ IF EVER there were a prog metal band for people who normally hate prog metal, it’d be Agrimonia. true, their tunes tend to be 10-minute epics consisting of ever-shifting sonic shapes, and the Swedish quintet don’t appear too keen on catchy choruses. However, there’s a vigour and absolute lack of bullshit to their delivery that attests to the members’ day jobs in excellent crust punk bands Martyrdöd and Skitsystem, as well as Swedish death metal icons At The Gates. On top of that, fearsome frontwoman Christina Blom is evidently too busy gargling gravel to tone things down with any clean vocals. this expansive, awe-inspiring album breathes new life into the post-metal miasma. DOWNLOAD: The Sparrow. FOR FANS OF: Amenra, Cult Of Luna.
