Who could re­sist Bertie the bull­dog? With his adorably cute ex­pres­sion, he's sure to charm any­one – what­ever their age! De­signer An­gela chose Blacker El­e­gance DK for this project as the yarn (a lovely mix of Cor­riedale and al­paca) is undyed, giv­ing Bertie a soft, nat­u­ral fifin­ish.

TAIL

Stuff the head, body and limbs firmly, as this will help to give shape to your bull­dog

Use Pewter, or a sim­i­lar dark grey yarn, to work a few straight stitches on each foot for claws

Stitch the limbs in po­si­tion se­curely – you don't want them com­ing off mid-cud­dle!

If making this toy for a very young child, hand­stitch eyes in­stead of us­ing plas­tic ones
