Turn to page 96 for ab­bre­vi­a­tions With 6mm nee­dles cast on 16 sts. Knit 4 rows. Now work in pat­tern as fol­lows: Row 1 (RS): K7, p2, k7. Row 2 (WS): K3, p4, k2, p4, k3. Row 3: K3, C4F, p2, C4B, k3. Row 4: As row 2. Row 5: As row 1. Row 6: As row 2. Row 7: As row 3 The last four rows form the pat­tern. Cont in patt un­til work mea­sures 25cm (9¾in) or enough to wrap around mug. Work 4 rows in garter st. Cast off.

MAKING UP Sew 3 but­tons to the RS of the mug hug, about 1cm (½in). Push but­tons through WS of knit­ting at other end, around mug.
