TIES (BOTH ALIKE) Us­ing 3.5mm nee­dles cast on 16 sts. Beg with a knit row, work in st st, dec 1 st at each end of 3rd and ev­ery foll alt row un­til 6 sts rem. Slip rem 6 sts onto 3.5mm dou­ble-pointed nee­dles and cont as folls: Row 1 (RS): K6, *with­out turn­ing slip th­ese 6 sts to op­po­site end of nee­dle and bring yarn to op­po­site end of work pulling it quite tightly across WS of work, knit th­ese 6 sts again, rep from * un­til tie meas 33cm (13in) from cast-on edge. Cast off. MAK­ING UP 1 Press the knit­ted neck­lace care­fully mak­ing sure you check with the in­for­ma­tion on the ball band. 2 Sew beads on ran­domly. 3 At­tach the cast on edge of one tie to the cast-on end of the cen­tre sec­tion mak­ing sure that the WS of the cen­tre sec­tion is against RS of the tie. 4 Re­peat for the other tie at the cast-off edge of the cen­tre sec­tion. 5 Fold the cen­tre sec­tion length­ways and join the row-end edges to form a tube.
