FRONT Using 5mm needles cast on work in patt as follows. Knit 12 rows. Row 13 (RS): to end. Row 14 (WS): Purl. Rep last 2 rows 4 more times.
These 22 rows form the pattern. Cont in patt as set until work measures approx 46cm (18in), ending with a block of garter stitch or a block of bobbles, ending RS facing for next row. Cast off.

MAKING UP Sew a front piece to a back piece leaving one edge open. Lay the second back piece over the first back piece and sew around three sides, making sure the original top section remains open underneath and leaving the opposite end on the new section open for fitting the cushion pad.
