Pleasure of the allotment

Landscape (UK) - - Readers' Letters -

After reading Karl Richmond’s letter in the Jan/ Feb 2017 issue, l thought a walk in the woods must be heaven for city people. But I walk the Norfolk landscape every day, delivering papers, dodging the pheasants, rabbits, hares and deer on the roads, and seeing the marsh harriers and barn owls roaming the misty hedgerows. So, for my weekend treat, I have just taken on an allotment. I am starting to tidy up the raspberry canes, which haven’t been done for two years. Let’s hope I get crops this summer!
