The family of missing Alexandria mum Lisa Brown say they are being kept up to date by Spanish police as diggers started searching land near her Spanish home last week.

Lisa, who would have turned 34 last month, disappeared in November 2015 and on Thursday around 20 Civil Guard officers, backed up by council diggers, took part in an operation in Guadiaro on the Costa del Sol.

It is understood the search turned up objects which have been passed on to forensic experts for further examination although no more information has been given as to the exact nature of these.

Police have however confirmed that they hadn’t found any remains of Lisa, who has a 10-year-old son Marco.

Her partner, Simon Corner, who is from Liverpool, has been remanded in custody on suspicion of killing Lisa since being detained in Denmark last April and extradited to Spain.

Speaking to the Lennox Herald yesterday (Tuesday), sister Helen Jordan said: “No further news as yet. We are kept updated with information.”

Last month, she posted on the Find Lisa Facebook page on what would have been her birthday: “Our hearts break a little more each day.

“So much you’ve missed but everything we do either daily or on a special day like today your in our thoughts constantly.

“The life we lived before is gone except the love, that will always be there and can never be taken away, that’s what drives us everyday, so happy birthday princess we love you.”

The heartbroken family travelled to the Costa del Sol last November to mark the anniversary of the 34-year-old’s disappearance.

Her mum Cathy and sister Helen headed to the town of San Roque in southern Spain, the last place Lisa was seen before she vanished on November 4, 2015.

It is understood that Spanish forensic teams have analysed DNA found in blood stains at Lisa’s home, which led police to believe a violent incident took place at the house involving Lisa and Corner.

Tests were also carried out on Lisa’s car, which Corner also drove, and it is believed these will also be used in the probe.

It is believed that any further investigation is temporarily suspended while the objects found last week are analysed.
