Rainbow flags flew acrossWest Dunbartonshire to mark the start of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month.
Pupils from Dumbarton Academy’s LGBTI Group and members ofWest Dunbartonshire FusionYouth Group were at the council offices in Dumbarton to raise the Rainbow Flag.
They were joined by Provost Douglas McAllister, council employees and Police Scotland.
During the month a number of events will be held throughout West Dunbartonshire.
Libraries will feature displays of LGBT books and films will be shown in the main libraries of Dumbarton, Clydebank and Alexandria.
Pupils from both theVale of Leven Academy and Dumbarton Academy have worked with their school library staff to present displays of LGBT books.
The council’sTitan Crane was lit the colours of the rainbow.
Provost Douglas McAllister said:“Raising the flag reaffirms the council’s commitment of promoting equality and diversity.
“Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their sexual orientation.”
